Key Responsibilities
As a Teller at Standard Chartered Bank Nepalgunj Branch, you will play a vital role in delivering superior frontline banking services while ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant transaction processing.
Your daily duties will include
- Handling financial transactions such as cash and cheque deposits, foreign currency exchanges, and remittance processing (inward/outward).
- Issuing bank drafts and managing customer requests for debit/credit cards, statements, and cheque books.
- Maintaining full compliance with bank policies on cash handling and ensuring the responsible custody of ATMs and credit cards.
- Supporting back-office tasks including voucher preparation, reconciliation, and follow-up on unpaid instruments.
- Assisting across service counters during peak hours and performing relief duties in cash and remittance operations.
Compliance and Control Responsibilities
- Adhere to all internal control standards, including dual control over cash and custody items.
- Monitor suspense and subsidiary accounts, escalating discrepancies promptly.
- Support the branch in maintaining strong compliance and risk management practices in line with regulatory requirements.
- Foster open communication, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving while upholding both local and international banking standards.
Risk Management & Internal Control
- Process transactions with high accuracy and integrity to meet customer expectations.
- Manage daily reconciliation of Online Banking, ATM, Credit Card, and Cheque Book operations.
- Ensure proper filing, documentation, and record-keeping.
- Maintain strict compliance with all operational and anti–money laundering policies.
- Immediately report any suspicious transactions to the designated authority.
- Prepare vouchers and manage standing orders in line with bank procedures.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Demonstrate exemplary behaviour consistent with Standard Chartered’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take ownership of maintaining the highest ethical standards across all operations.
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and the Group’s Conduct Principles, focusing on:

- Identify, mitigate, and resolve compliance and risk issues effectively.

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Management, or related discipline.

- Prior experience in banking, finance, or customer service preferred.
